Probate Applications & Interviews

If you need to probate a will and apply for a grant of probate, or you’ve been appointed as a personal representative in accordance with intestacy law, you’ll need to attend an interview at the registry.

Don’t worry if you don’t see an office listed above that’s near you, it may not been necessary to travel. In addition, the service uses offices and venues within public buildings where a representative from HM Courts and Tribunals Service will meet you. The PA4 form gives a complete list, detailing where all the interview locations are.

You’ll need to specify which interview venue you require on your PA1 application form. Your application must be sent to the controlling probate registry of that venue which is also detailed in PA4.
